In a conference call yesterday (26 July) Supervalu CEO Jeff Noddle said that the stores have failed to meet expectations and would close to allow the retailer to “operate more efficiently”.
Supervalu acquired 1,100 Alberstons stores earlier this year. The closures are part of the company’s consolidation and integration plans, the company said.
