Frozen food consumers can feel as confident about the products’ taste, safety and nutrition as they feel relieved by their convenience, American Frozen Food Institute president and CEO Leslie G. Sarasin will tell the Washington Club on 29 March.

Sarasin plans to draw from scientific research and successes of AFFI’s government affairs and public relations programmes to make the case that frozen foods are “guilt-killers” for people whose lifestyles demand convenience but worry about sacrificing other essential food characteristics.

“I look forward to bringing to the women of the Washington Club a message that is accepted increasingly by chefs, nutritionists, the media, government and scientists: today’s frozen foods are worth a fresh look,” Sarasin said.

“We are finding that justified belief in frozen foods leads to tremendous relief for those putting food on the table, whether at home or in restaurants and foodservice,” Sarasin said.  “The frozen food category has come a long way through innovation, to the point that it can take a great deal of guilt out of people’s eating decisions.”
