So Natural Foods Australia has announced that its subsidiary, Paramount Seafoods, has agreed with a subsidiary of Canada-based Connors Bros. to acquire the Brunswick seafood brand in Australia and New Zealand.

The company said the transaction will strengthen Paramount’s position in the ambient seafood market in Australia and New Zealand. The deal, worth around A$11.5m (US$9.1m), includes trademarks and inventory.
Connors Bros. produces canned sardines through its operating subsidiaries Clover Leaf Seafoods and Bumble Bee Seafoods. Its Brunswick brand is distributed in more than 40 countries.
The Brunswick brand, launched in Australia in 1926, includes mainstream and house brand sardine products and branded salmon products.
