California-based natural foods specialist Kashi Company has announced the addition of Golean Crunch Honey Almond Flax cereal to its Golean range.

The new cereal contains flax seeds, one of the few plant-based sources of Omega-3 fatty acids, which have been shown to lower blood pressure, triglycerides and total cholesterol levels, Kashi said. In addition, the new product contains sliced almonds which, in combination with the flax, increase the amount of healthy fat per serving.
“Golean products are our most popular offering,” says Jeff Johnson, nutritionist and brand manager for Kashi. “It was only natural for us to expand the line and give consumers more healthy and delicious Golean options. The honey-sweetened taste, sliced almonds and hearty whole grain texture provide delicious flavour and nutrient-packed ingredients in every serving.”
The company is launching the new product nationwide and expects the new Golean addition to be available in stores from mid-July.
The Golean product range includes hot and cold cereals, nutrition bars, waffles and shakes, all made from natural ingredients and designed to assist weight management and help consumers maintain a healthy diet.
