The new factory will be built in Shinmachi, Gunma Prefecture, near its existing facility, and space will be left at the site for further expansion in the future, reported Asia Pulse.

The facility will mainly make ice cream in mini-cups, but lines will be able to be adapted to make the company’s Crispy Sandwich and Parfait products too.

The investment will enable the company to lower its dependency on imports from France, Asia Pulse said.
