Danish vegetable oils maker Aarhus United has reported a sharp rise in operating income in 2004.

Operating income in 2004 rose to 234m Danish kroner (US$41.6m), compared with 153m in 2003. Profits after tax rose to 175m kroner from 88m in 2003.
“The four production companies in Denmark, the UK, the USA and Mexico all achieved better results in 2004 than in 2003,” the company said. “Their operating income improved by 67m kroner in total. This is considered to be due to favourable economic developments in general, compared with the previous year, but also to be the result of the companies’ strategic commitment to efficiency and core business.”
Total revenue in 2004 was 4.972bn kroner, compared with 4.485bn in 2003.
