The authorities in the French department of Ain have announced that about 50 poultry farmers in the region will be allowed to let their birds outside, Les Echos reported today (21 April).
The area was hit by bird flu in February.

The farmers who have been granted permission to move their birds outdoors have taken provisions that are equivalent to keeping them inside, the authorities said.
