According to a report in The Daily Telegraph, vets are targeting around 90 farms within a two-mile radius of the farm in Wermsdorf, near Leipzig, where the disease was detected.

German Agriculture Minister, Horst Seehofer, warned that the cull would not bring an end to the crises: “We will have to live with this for a long time to come, possibly years,” he said.
