In a statement released on Saturday (1 April), US retail giant Wal-Mart said that March sales figures showed the negative impact of a late Easter.

Reporting a sales growth of 1.3% over March 2005 in stores that have been trading a year or more, the world’s biggest retailer said that with Easter three weeks later than the previous year the company is expecting better sales results in April.
