“The good result was driven in particular by the dynamic second-half performance and the growth of lifestyle and health products,” the company said in a statement released today (17 February).
The fresh products unit sales rose by 6.4% from 2004, while the dairy products unit, boosted by the acquisition of Biedermann dairy last spring and bulk consumer sales, rose by 16.7%. The cheese unit saw a year-on-year decline of 3.3%.
Emmi said that more detailed figures for the groups 2005 financial performance would be released on 20 April.
