The Spanish offshoot of food group Sara Lee, Sara Lee Bakery Iberian Investments, has said it is to sell its Bimbo-Martínez pastry plant in Segovia to the Spanish company Grupo Siro, according to the Spanish newspaper El Pais.
The company had originally planned to close the plant down and relocate the 140 staff to another facility. But the move faced stiff opposition from local workers’ groups.
