Aldi Süd, the German unit of the discount retailer, will be launching a product certification scheme designed to boost the image of private label products, the company informed just-food today (14 March).
The company will introduce a Quality Standard logo to be featured on fruit, vegetables and fresh meat. Aldi Süd stores will be individually certified before they can sell products in the range, a move designed to assure consumers of the excellence of fresh produce.
