“As consumers navigate ongoing cost-of-living pressures, we are seeing sustained demand for trusted, great-value, tasty frozen favourites that can be used across a variety of meals. This investment ensures we can continue to meet that demand whilst supporting good food choices for families,” Nomad chief supply officer Eduardo Bachiega said.

The facility, which supplies customers in the UK and Ireland, means the factory can produce 18,250 tonnes, or around 45 million potato waffles, a year.

In September, Nomad set out a target of €200m ($233.1m) in operational savings during its 2026 to 2028 financial years, with efficiencies expected across procurement, logistics and overheads.

Nomad believes the savings will allow the business to make “targeted reinvestments” and “mitigate” pressure from inflation.

In April, the company said it planned to close its Rorschach plant in Switzerland by the end of this year.

The company saw its sales and earnings fall in 2025. Reported sales revenue fell 2.2% to €3.03bn ($3.54bn). Organic sales were down 1.9%. Volumes declined 1.4%.

Operating profit slid from €387m in 2024 to €325.4m. Net profit slumped from €136.7m to €227,1m.

Nomad expects its organic revenue to decrease by 2-5% and its adjusted EBITDA to fall 5-10% in 2026.

Last month, the company booked a 5.9% decline in first-quarter revenues to €715m. Organic revenue fell 5.3%.
