French retailing group Carrefour has announced its intention to invest €430m in Poland during 2001-2, according to Guy Yraeta, the head of its Polish subsidiary. The group, which will open its eight Polish hypermarket in Silesia this year, is planning to open two more in 2001, as well as around ten supermarkets under the Champion fascia.
