In a bid to avoid discrepancy between supply and demand on the Russian food market, the Moscow Mayor’s office has finally approved the volume of the reserve food fund for the city. It will hold meat and meat products, butter, sugar and grain.

Officials hope that the initiative will help to regulate the market, and when needed the produce will be sold at a price that is generated from the costs involved in storage but no lower than normal purchase prices in the local area.
