HUNGARY: Pick largely unconcerned about Russia meat ban
Pick Szeged , the largest meat processor in Hungary, has revealed that the Russian import ban on European meat will result in some minor losses. Bela Kevei, a director from the firm, revealed that the 21-day ban recently imposed by Russia over fears of the spread of foot and mouth will mean that the company will forgo sales worth around HUF40m. Pick’s main export market is Germany, and if a ban were put in place here, sales losses may total up to HUF10bn, added Kevei.
