Low demand for food products meant that prices dropped this winter for the first time ever, according to specialists at the Strategic Research Centre (CSS).

Normally, changes in food prices would not be expected until the summer months. This February however, inflation dropped to 0.5% from January’s level of 7.4%. Similarly, the yearly quarter at the end of March is expected to record inflation of 6.8%.
