Fledgling UK confectioner Glisten has snapped up two local savoury snack firms.

The company has bolstered its roster with the acquisitions of Snacks Unlimited and The Lindum Snack Company.

The deals, for a combined GBP1.5m (US$3.1m), come two months after a brace of acquisitions, Dormen Foods and Skinny Candy.

Chief executive Paul Simmonds said: “The acquisition of Snacks Unlimited and Lindum expands our capability in the fast-growing better-for-you snacks marketplace.

“Low fat, low calorie and ‘baked-not-fried’ are now key messages for savoury snacking products and the acquisition of Snacks Unlimited gives Glisten a strong platform to grow from in this arena.”
