“Since joining the Winn-Dixie board last November, Greg Josefowicz has exhibited leadership on our board and among our independent directors and been a valued advisor to me and other members of our senior management team,” said chairman, CEO and president Peter Lynch.

“His considerable experience in retailing, together with his strong insights and leadership skills, make him an outstanding choice for the important position of lead director. I look forward to working closely with Greg and the other directors as we continue to pursue our multi-year turnaround plan.”

Josefowicz, who was previously president, CEO and chairman of books and music retailer Borders, is also a director of Ryerson, Telephone and Data Systems, and PetSmart, where he also serves as the lead director.

Winn-Dixie, which emerged from bankruptcy last November, has eight independent directors.
