The UK’s competition watchdog has invited comments on Tesco’s planned acquisition of five stores from fellow retailer Somerfield.

The Office of Fair Trading said today (24 September) that interested parties could contact it to comment on the proposed deal.
Tesco plans to buy five Somerfield in the north-east of England. The OFT said once it receives the comments it would decide whether the deal would reduce competition in the area.
