The owner of Russian retail venture Ramenka is reportedly looking to offload the business – just days after acquiring full control over the company.
Reuters said today (14 September) that Turkish conglomerate Enka Insaat has asked Société General to sell the business, which operates 55 stores in Russia under the Ramstore banner.
Earlier this week, Enka, which has interests in fields including energy and construction, bought Ramenka outright from venture partner and Turkish retailer Migros for US$542.5m.
Officials at Enka could not be reached for immediate comment.
Migros owner Koc Holding has been conducting a strategic review of the Migros business, which runs 700 supermarkets and hypermarkets in Turkey, since June.
