Masterfoods USA, a subsidiary of Mars Inc, opened the polls today for a worldwide vote to determine the newest colour of M&M’s Chocolate Candies to be included in the bag. 


Candy lovers around the globe are being encouraged to join in the M&M’s Global Colour Vote(TM) by choosing one of three colors, purple, pink or aqua, to enter the bag.


More than 75 countries on five continents are participating in the Global Color Vote promotion. However, residents from every region of the globe are eligible to vote through 31 May 2002 by logging on to http://www.mms.com, which is accessible in more than 15 different languages. 


Voters in participating countries are also able to vote through mail, telephone or at kiosks placed in select locations. The winning color will be revealed in June 2002 at a gala event in New York City.


M&M’s were launched in 1941 and the Global Color Vote(TM) is the largest promotion and the first global promotion in the brand’s history.
