Irate consumers are threatening to report PasarBorong.Com to the relevant authorities, for “spamming.”

A bug in the computer system of the first on-line grocer in Malaysia, or some nifty sabotage, has caused an email message detailing millennium promotions to reach recipients almost 80 times.

The multiple mails are certainly drawing attention to the new e-tailer, but its debatable as to whether this is really the kind of attention it needs.

As inboxes were jammed with promotional bumpf, a few stray mails from stressed shoppers were also forwarded to the entire Pasar Borong mailing list.

“Please remove me from your e-mail list with immediate effect or I will report this to all the relevant authorities for SPAMMING!!!,” wrote Christopher Shun.
