Swiss food group Huegli Holding has posted a jump in profits for the first six months of the year thanks to rising demand.

Huegli said today (19 August) that operating profit rose 21% to CHF13.9m (US$11.5m) on the back of a 6.4% rise in revenue to CHF162m.
Huegli pointed to rising demand in Germany; the company added it expects to book full-year sales of CHF339m.
Huegli produces a range of food, from organic to private-label. Some 40% of Huegli’s business is in the foodservice sector in Europe, with the bulk made up of natural and organic foods, the production of industrial foods for industry players and private-label lines for discount retailers.
