A labelling error has forced Bay Valley Foods to recall cans of its Meijer Cream of Mushroom Reduced Sodium Condensed Soup.

The label on the soup contained the ingredient and nutrition information for Chicken Noodle Reduced Sodium Soup, the company said today (4 November), and contains undeclared egg.

No adverse reactions have been reported to date, the TreeHouse Foods unit said.

In addition to working in cooperation with the FDA, the company is issuing an alert through the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network.

The recall was initiated after the company received a consumer complaint about the mislabelled product.
