ITM owns supermarket operator Intermarche as well as discounters Ecomarche and Netto.

A spokesperson for the company confirmed today (21 October) that Mozas has tendered his resignation.

However, the company has remained silent on French reports that he will be replaced by Philippe Manzoni, who is currently head of the international business.

According to a report in Le Monde, Mozas indicated that ITM chief executive Francois Gazuit is also planning to quit his position.

It is currently unclear what prompted Mozas’ decision to step down, but he was reportedly facing internal opposition from some of the cooperative’s members, who are owners of local supermarkets.
