Australia’s largest food maker Goodman Fielder today (6 October) revealed that it is in talks to sell its commercial fats and oils business.

The company said it had received “a number of offers” for the business, which prompted the group to start a “sale process”.

Goodman, which signalled in May that it was looking to sell the business, said negotiations were “continuing” and added that it would provide more details at its AGM next month.

In August, Goodman posted a jump in annual profits on the back of a 6.5% rise in sales and admitted it was looking at domestic acquisitions in the bakery and dairy sectors.
