US baked snack group Pepperidge Farms has rolled-out a variety pink-wrapped cookies in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The cookies include; Original, Mint and Double Chocolate Milano; Chocolate Chunk Milk Chocolate Macadamia and White Chocolate Macadamia; as well as Soft Baked Oatmeal Raisin. The company said it will also donate US$270,000 to the charity.
As part of the promotion, consumers can play an online game at www.pepperidgefarm.com/pink. For every game played, Pepperidge Farm will donate $1.00 to Susan Komen for the Cure, up to $50,000.
Komen will also partner with Pepperidge Farm Foodservice for Sodexo’s Breast Cancer Awareness programme. The foodservice division will donate $20,000 to the charity in October and will package its four-pack Milano Cookies in “pink” film.
General Mills’ Yoplait yogurt and Coca-Cola’s Fuze Empower beverages are also participants in the programme.
