European Milk Board president Romuald Schaber warned that the strike would be resumed “if no reasonable decision is taken”.


French agriculture minister Bruno Le Maire said there was scope to work on a new system of milk price regulation in the EU. Franco-German proposals have now received support from 20 of the 27 member states. 


In France, which has been the hub of the strike action since it began on 10 September, milk collections have been reduced by an estimated 5%-10%.
