According to local reports in the US today (9 May), the Southern California Grocery Workers Union called off the talks over what it deemed as an unacceptable wage offer.
The union reportedly said that talks had broken down after the three chains – units of Supervalu, Kroger’s and Safeway – proposed a plan to pay less into a employee health care fund.
