Dutch food giant Wessanen, the owner of Tree of Life, said today (24 April) there could be further opportunities to buy smaller distributors of organic products as its business grows.

“Tree of Life distributes from coast to coast but if any opportunities come across the path, we will look into it,” a Wessanen spokesman told just-food. “As our revenue grows, there is the possibility of smaller acquisitions.”

Organica USA handles organic, natural and speciality foods for over 100 manufacturers throughout South Florida. The Wessanen spokesman said the business has “excellent synergies” with Tree of Life.

“We supply similar products throughout South Florida. Organica has good distribution to small, independent retailers,” the spokesman said.
