Halloren Schokoladenfabrik, billed as Germany’s oldest chocolate maker, plans to float in June to fund the company’s expansion.

Halloren, which is eyeing a Frankfurt listing, is reportedly keen to modernise its 200-year-old factory – which makes the popular Hallorenkugel chocolate globes – and to expand production.

A Halloren spokesperson confirmed the plan to float but declined to comment on how much the company intends to raise in the float.

Last year, Halloren delivered a 3% increase in operating profit to EUR1.6m (US$2.2m) on an 8% rise in revenue, which reached EUR25.9m.

Apart from its Hallorenkugel globes – round, multi-flavoured chocolates resembling shirt buttons – Halloren makes chocolate bars, chocolate-coated candies and jellies, rum balls and coconut flakes for sale in confectionery shops and supermarkets.
