More job cuts are in the offing at UK poultry supplier 2 Sisters Food Group with the company looking to restructure a site in Devon.
2 Sisters, which has 13 manufacturing plants in the UK, has blamed “poor demand” for seasonal BBQ products for plans to axe jobs at its Willand facility. Up to 95 employees could be affected.
However, 2 Sisters said it has spent over GBP4m (US$6.7m) in the facility over the last 18 months and added that Willand would become a “centre of excellence” for “specialist” chicken.
Richard Maunder, site director at 2 Sisters Willand, said: “We are fully committed to this region and Willand continues to play a key role within 2 Sisters Food Group.”
In June, 2 Sisters blamed consumers trading down for its plan to cut jobs at its Letham facility.
