The National Restaurant Association (NRA) has announced that Kristin Nolt will assume the new position of senior VP of marketing, communications and media relations.
Nolt has held key assignments at the NRA over the past four-and-a-half years, most recently serving as senior VP of media relations. In her new role, she will continue to report directly to Steven C. Anderson, NRA president and CEO.
“I am very pleased to promote Kristin to this new position at the NRA. Since coming to the Association, she has developed and implemented highly proactive and creative programs and activities that have generated a tremendous amount of news coverage for the restaurant industry generally and our NRA specifically,” Anderson said.
“Our marketing, communications and media relations activities have been hugely successful over the past several years in promoting the essential role restaurants play in our nation’s life and in the lives of all Americans; yet, I believe we have not yet reached the apex in what we can accomplish,” he said.
Effective with her promotion, 13 May 2002, the Media Relations Division will become a department within the new Marketing, Communications & Media Relations Division, headed by Nolt. This action will help ensure that the NRA will continue to aggressively, effectively and efficiently communicate to a variety of audiences the consistent messages that America’s 858,000 restaurants and their 11.6 million employees are the cornerstone of the nation’s economy, the local community and extraordinary careers.
The move follows the announcement that Chris Krese, senior VP of marketing and communications, will be leaving to establish a food practice at Xenophon Strategies.
