The grocer will cut prices on 2,600 of its staple items including private-label and brand name products in frozen, dairy, produce, meat, deli and bakery. The programme will run from to 28 October.
David J. Hepfinger, Weis Markets’ president and CEO, said: “Given the current economic environment, our Price Freeze program continues to make sense for our customers. In many of the markets we serve, the unemployment rate continues to increase. Our price freeze program has produced tangible savings for our customers over the past seven months. Since its initial roll-out in January, it has helped our customers save more than US$11m.”
In stores, the programme will be highlighted with signs, in-store radio ads and price freeze shelf tags on participating items.
