The European Commission said today (14 March) that it has delayed its competition review of Carrefour’s proposed acquisition of Royal Ahold’s Polish operations.
The EC, which was originally due to rule on the deal on 23 March, will now issue its judgement on 4 April.
Ahold operates 170 supermarkets and 15 hypermarkets in Poland. The acquisition is valued at EUR375m (US$495.54m).
