UK supermarket group Morrisons has announced the appointment of Martyn Jones as trading director. In this role he will be responsible for all aspects of trading and supply chain operations.

Jones joined Morrisons in 1990 as trading manager for frozen foods before being promoted to trading operations director in 1993. He was appointed grocery director in 1997 and then senior trading director in 2002, assuming former MD Marie Melnyk’s day to day trading responsibilities on her departure from the company in December 2006.
