USA: Congressmen press for end to Norwegian, Japanese whaling, 83% of Americans agree
Three congressmen have demanded that the US government take steps to stop the whaling activities of Norway and Japan. George Miller (California), Chris Smith (New Jersey) and Bill Delahunt (Massachusetts) revealed that according to a recent poll conducted among US consumers, 83% of the public is opposed to whaling. A further 72% pledged to support a boycott of goods manufactured by Norwegian and Japanese companies that are involved in whaling or the trading of whale products.
