Belgian food group Ter Beke has signed a purchase option agreement with the shareholders of French food manufacturer Normandie Plats Cuisines (NPC), the company revealed.

NPC will be amalgamated into Ter Beke’s ready-to-eat meals business, FreshMeals NV, in the second quarter of 2007.


NPC produces pasta meals for the French market. The company, which employs 100 people, generated sales of EUR12m (US$15.9m) in 2006.


Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
