Cadbury-Schweppes has opted to re-introduce its iconic ‘Flake girl’ through TV and cinema advertisements in the UK this month, following a five-year absence.

The advert will be launched on Friday 9 February and stars Australian actress and international model Alyssa Sutherland.

Cadbury, whose first Flake ad was launched in 1959, said that this year’s multi-million pound advertising campaign represents the largest spend by the brand in the last five years.

Cadbury spokesman Tony Bilsborough said: “The Flake girl is so well loved by the British public that it made sense to bring her back. Whilst we can’t reveal any more details at this stage, we are confident that the new campaign will be one of the most talked-about adverts of the year.”
