McDonald’s is to change its Thai marketing logo for the first time in seventeen years, from “Good Time, Great Taste” to “It’s Mac Time, It’s Smile Time”.

Kaweemat Tangkiriphiman, marketing manager at the local operator of the US corporation, McThai Co Ltd, explained that the change had been instigated in a bid to take the perception of the chain beyond that of a conventional fastfood restaurant.

After interviewing consumers, “we found that [they] define McDonald’s as a place where they could find smiles, laughing, a warm welcome, a variety of tasty foods, and a good family atmosphere”, explained Tangkiriphiman.


The marketer promised: “We will still maintain the core idea of McDonald’s in providing a good experience for our customers. They will experience a touch of love, happiness and laughter.”
