US natural food distributor United Natural Foods has announced the appointments of Rick Antonelli to the position of president of the western region and Michael Beaudry to the new position of vice president of operations.

In addition, the company said Di Ann Sanchez has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president of human resources.


Antonelli has served as president of the company’s eastern region since 2002. Steven Townsend, CEO and president of United Natural Foods, will assume interim responsibility for position of president of the eastern region.


Beaudry served as vice president of operations, eastern region, from December 2002 to August 2003.


All appointments were made during a recent meeting of the board of directors, the company said.
