UK dairy Milk Link plans to invest GBP1m (US$1.4m) in expanding its speciality cheese cutting and packing capacity.

The company will construct a bespoke cutting and packing hall at its Reece’s crumbly cheese creamery in Malpas, Cheshire.

The facility will give Milk Link an enhanced capability to cut and pack a range of traditional hard-pressed and crumbly territorial cheeses for premium customers in the UK and abroad.

Building began this week and the facility is expected to be fully operational by September.

Commenting on the development, Mark Frankcom, director for speciality cheese at Milk Link, said: “This investment will significantly enhance our capability in speciality cheese and enable us to deliver more of what our customers need to win in this growing sector of the market.”
