Flavour producer Quest Food International announced the launch of its recently formulated Vanilla Analogs this week.

Mairi Coia, vanilla business development manager at Quest, commented: “We have developed sophisticated analytical methods to identify previously undiscovered key character impact compounds in the vanilla extracts.”

Marketing director Steve Bodicoat added: “Manufacturers have had a difficult choice in the past – either to use the scarce raw material with an unstable supply chain or compromise on flavour profile quality.

“Quest’s commitment to the ice cream industry means we will now be able to guarantee vanilla flavour quality and availability.”

Extracted from the beans of a tropical plant in the orchid family, vanilla is a sensitive aroma and a popular one. Quest maintains however that its new product will help ensure a steady supply of vanilla for the global market, offering value for money and greater flexibility for companies.
