French retail giant Carrefour has appointed Pierre Bouchut as the group’s new finance chief.

As chief financial officer, Bouchut will oversee the group’s financial management, investor relations, m&a activity, assets and development, legal and fiscal affairs and information systems, reporting directly to Carrefour’s new chief executive Lars Olofsson. He will also take a seat on the retailer’s executive committee.
Previously, Bouchut was CFO of Schneider-Electric. He has also served as CFO and CEO of Carrefour’s French rival Groupe Casino
Bouchut will succeed Eric Reiss, who has been appointed director of Carrefour’s hypermarkets in Brazil. He will report to Jean-Marc Pueyo, executive director of Brazil and Latin America.
The appointments come into effect this May, the company said.
