The NVRQS detected traces of the Enterobacter Sakazaki bacteria in a 135-kilo batch of Vitagermine brand milk which was imported into the country last month but which has not gone on sale. The bacteria can provoke meningitis and enteritis.
The NVRQS will now carry out tests on another 135-kilo batch of the Vitagermine brand imported on 6 February and which has not yet gone onto the market either.
