French sliced ham and charcuterie group Madrange is in talks to sell the business to with local food holding company Financière Turenne Lafayette (FTL).

“We can’t comment further other than to say nothing has been signed at this stage and [we] are in consultations with [the] works council on the terms and conditions of a possible takeover,” a company official told just-food.

Madrange, the sale of which was first rumoured a year ago, employs 1,700 staff and generates an annual turnover of close to EUR380m (US$487.3m).

FTL, which owns popular brands such as William Saurin (cassoulets) Panzani (raviolis), Garbit (couscous) and Paul Prédault (cooked hams) has an estimated turnover of EUR600m.
