UK retailer Sainsbury’s has denied reports that it has put in an offer for up to 100 Woolworths stores.

Other retailers believed to be interested in the stores are Tesco, Waitrose, Morrisons, Asda, Poundland and Iceland.
When contacted by just-food today (8 December), a spokesperson for Sainsbury’s said that “there’s no truth in the rumour”.
Woolworths, which called in the administrators in November, made 450 job cuts at support offices in London and Rochdale on Friday (5 December).
