Dean has been the Director of Licensing at the Veterinary Medicines Directorate since 1996. He will take up his new post on 1 April, following the retirement of Dr Mike Rutter, CBE, MRCVS, on 31 March. 


Dean was selected for the post following an open competition, and he will also be director of Veterinary Medicines.


In his new capacity, Dean will consolidate and strengthen the Agency’s position as one of the  key regulatory authorities for veterinary medicines in Europe.
