Lyme Regis Fine Foods, a division of UK healthy snack maker Glisten, has extended its Fruitus brand with the addition of a range of Chewy Fruit Bars.

Chewy Fruit Bars are made from 95% fruit and are available in three new varieties including Tropical Fruit, Apple and Pear and Summer Fruits, the company revealed.

The launch follows the recent re-launch of the Fruitus brand and the introduction of a variety of new products, including Fruity Oat Bars and Chewy Fruit Bites.

Fruitus Chewy Fruit Bars contain one portion of fruit per serving and are free from added sugar, artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

“Consumers continue to search out convenient fruit snacks and the formed fruit sector is in growth. Fruitus offers a new generation of fruit snacking products that are more natural and delicious than ever before”, commented Dave Coulson, group marketing director at Glisten.

The product launch will be supported by a national sampling campaign targeting supermarkets and train stations, and an integrated PR campaign to target consumer media.  

“For the future we have ambitions for all our ‘drive brands’ across the group. These include Sun-Maid, WeightWatchers, Dormen’s, Skinny Candy and Fruitus. Alongside our growing partnership manufacturing relationships, we are committed to building unique challenger brands within emerging and growing markets, and aim to increase the branded element of our business from 25% to 40% by 2012,” Coulson added.
